VARCUS Concludes Landmark Jakarta Mission
Following a successful week in Singapore, the VARCUS team arrived in Jakarta as part of the Estonian official delegation to engage with the backbone of the Indonesian maritime economy. Indonesia, the world’s largest archipelago, presents a unique landscape where maritime efficiency is synonymous with national growth. Our mission focused on aligning our advanced AR and resource management solutions with the specific needs of Southeast Asia’s most ambitious maritime players.

The mission kicked off with a high-level meeting at INSA (Indonesian National Shipowners’ Association), where we identified a strong regional drive toward sustainability and green technology. This was further reinforced through technical discussions with Pelni regarding passenger vessel safety and with PERTAMINA on optimizing Oil & Gas logistics. A standout moment was the Maritime Business Forum, where live demonstrations of ESBEN allowed industry leaders to experience our AR navigation assistant firsthand. The feedback was exceptional, confirming that our focus on intuitive UI/UX and real-time data visualization meets a critical gap in the market.

Beyond vessel navigation, a visit to Pelindo (Port of Jakarta) opened new strategic horizons. Observing the immense scale of Indonesian port operations highlighted a significant opportunity for the application of our AR technology in port infrastructure, specifically crane operations. We concluded the trip with a series of private consultations with leaders like Andhika Group and Ilthabi Rekatama, and a strategic networking dinner hosted by the Estonian Embassy. These engagements have not only validated our market hypotheses but have set the stage for long-term partnerships in the region.
