Bridging the Gap Between Science and Sea

Moving toward joint scientific research with Tallinn University of Technology to validate the future of maritime navigation.

At the annual seminar hosted by the Smart Sea Centre of Excellence at TalTech (Tallinn University of Technology), the focus was on the future of maritime safety and efficiency. For ESBEN, this was an opportunity to move beyond the business case and into the realm of scientific validation. Our team engaged with leading local researchers to discuss how AR navigation and intelligent resource management can be objectively measured in terms of safety impact and cognitive load reduction for mariners.

The resulting connections at TalTech are now evolving into a potential joint research framework. We believe that for a complex product like ESBEN, “market-ready” must also mean “scientifically-backed.” By collaborating with the Smart Sea Centre, we aim to conduct rigorous studies on ESBEN’s utility, providing our future clients with more than just promises—but with data-driven evidence of how our technology enhances situational awareness on the bridge.
